Wlecome to the 8th Grade
Ms Naz's Memo ~ 10/3/14 *I assign work {Work = Class and Home work} during the week, (I will ask the students to write the assignments in their planners/agendas.) *As of this week, ask your students to see their planner ~ and ask to see the work that will be turned-in on Monday. *All Work is due on Monday (generally - in Pen and in Cursive) If the students missed an assignment, they may turn it in on any other Monday. *The Common Core State Standards, have an emphasis on writing. Your students will have a journal right each day. Using quotes from US people will acquaint the students with a variety of people who have influenced our society. [They students are to write the quote, explain the author's purpose (1-2 sentence) and their response (agree or disagree with why ~ 4-5 sentences)] *In teaching any Social Studies Class ~ ~ there is a standard of using the GRAPES for each civilization ~ US History included. [Historical events and people, geography, political, economics and social structure is a huge part of the subject.] There will be times the students will revisit a subject and or redo an assignment. *My goal for each student, is to become a lifelong learner, plus have academic success in Middle & High school, college and in their lives. It is essential for students to have the opportunities to learn using different learning styles and modalities. My role is to coach and guide them on there way in the process of learning. *Parent Conferences are being held on 10/16 ~ I'm looking forward to seeing you *I'm working on setting up the Blog for the 8th grades ~ this way you may check on the assignments for the week and when things are due. http:// msnazclass.blogspot.com/ (if you google Ms Naz Class ~ I will come up) *If you have a question please email me at: njn1501@lausd.net or NNazCar@gmail.com
