FALL 2013 Agenda ~ Week 6 ~ September 16 - 20, 2013


Language Arts/English ~ Week 6   periods 1 & 3
   ~ Standard Focus ~ “Narrative” 2.1

   “Crow Call” ~ Literary Analysis = Symbol (representing) Active Reading = Cause and effect       questions 1-7      Vocabulary & Grammar
  T-Shirt & Pie         Pair Graphic Organizer and Poster Design (symbolism) 
  How would the story change if the father hadn't smiled?
  Would the story ending change?  How ~ describe (Guesstimate)
  Write about an event in you life?  Create a T-Shirt to represent something from your story (use descriptive words, masterpiece sentences and realistic dialogue)

Figurative Language ~ Graphic Organizer

Masterpiece Sentences ~ Notes and practice sentences

Book Report (in 2 weeks – due September 23)

       Give an Opinion (assertion) about the meaning of the story ~ stating (sighting) 2-3 places in the article to prove your point


  News Current Event ~ Due 9/27, 10/18, 11/15, 12/13
       Print Out, Photocopy or cut out the story (highlight important facts)
       From the Internet, Magazine or Newspaper
       Write 5 essential Facts (list) ~ Write the main idea of the story
       Draw a Picture to symbolize the meaning (represent) of the story
