  Students will "Peer" Edit each others work ~ giving suggestions, corrections in spelling, grammar and flow & completed the check list

(creative use of prepositions in writing interesting and complex sentences)
  Spelling ~ Geography H2O & Story terms (32 words) write 3-5 times & Flash Cards
( Word, Definition, Phonetic, Use in a Sentence, Synonyms)
  Book Report (in 2 weeks – due October 7)
                                In Our Village/Old Yeller  ~ Create a TimeLine of Events; What is the main purpose of the book (what is the meaning), 3-5 proofs (facts/quotes from the story) to support your opinion; Would you recommend the book?  Why or Why Not? (4-5 reasons/proofs); & Design a poster to represent the meaning

  News Current Event ~ Due 9/27, 10/18, 11/15, 12/13
       Print Out, Photocopy or cut out the story (highlight important facts)
       From the Internet, Magazine or Newspaper
       Write 5 essential Facts (list) ~ Write the main idea of the story
       Draw a Picture to symbolize the meaning (represent) of the story
       Give an Opinion (assertion) about the meaning of the story ~ stating (sighting) 2-3 places in the article to prove your point
