Week 5 ~ Fall 2016 ~ 9/12-16

     The importance of GRAPES in studying USA History & in College Prep
      Expectation in Writing
         ✰ do a through job, using complex sentence and deep meanings to the questions.  (answer the who, what, where, why, and when)
         ✰ Claim ~ Reason correct, quote and why the reason proves the claim.
   All students are encouraged to turn in their assignments on time, for full credit.  If there is an issue ~ they may turn in work late and receive a passing grade on the assignment.  The student will need to bring it to me ~ since I won't ask for it.  
MY GOAL IS TO HAVE ALL STUDENTS EARN AN A IN MY CLASS!

     Hispanic Heritage Month ~ being the process using GRAPES and Artifacts (masks, mandalas, poetry, music, famous USA Americans …) to study the cultures

Assignments:

U.S. History Classes
      Due Monday 9/12 ~ What is the significance of 911 to the USA?  
- meaning of 911.  
- Describe what happened 
- how it changed our country (Be Specific)
      Due Tuesday 9/15 ~ Create a poster with a Visual Representation of the Constitution (make sure you label, explain and describe each branch of the government) -- use your Main Ideas about each article in the Constitution that was due on Friday the 9th
      Due Wednesday 9/14 ~  Sign-up for a Native American Tribe
      Due Monday 9/19 ~ Native American Tribe Project - Find out about their Society (GRAPES)
~ Create a Poster (18x22) with visuals and words to describe the society (GRAPES- A has Arts, Acheivemnts & Writing)
The project may be a visual representation with labels (caption the pictures) and descriptions or a College or diorama with GRAPES represented, or a PowerPoint or a report with pictures (at least 10 pictures) and details
+ it can be done by yourself -- you must have a bibliography (sources-url, title website, author, date)

      Due Tuesday 9/20 - American Nation ~ chapter 2      Due Thursday 9/22 ~ Native American Brain Pop - watch the movie, take the quiz, make a map and sortify - make sure you ScreenShot how well you did.
US History - American Indians
      Due Monday 9/26 ~ Chapter 1 - Native American (Notes and Workbook)
      Due Wednesday 9/28 ~ the Top Important Topics/Issues in the Presidential Race (15 Topics/Issues)

Multi-Cultural Studies Classes
      Due Monday 9/12 ~ Your 'Brilliance' Poem
      Due Tuesday 9/13 ~ Pick a "Hispanic" country you are interested in.  (you might have 2-3 in mind ~ since 1 group will have a country)  
      Due Wednesday 9/14 ~ What is a mandala?
      Due Friday 9/16 ~ Benjamin Franklin Poem Analysis (DBQ)
      Due Monday 9/19 ~ The "Hispanic" Country Project  - Using GRAPES will assist you in describing the culture of that country.  Find masks, mandalas, poetry, music, any famous USA Americans  from the country.  
Using GRAPES as a tool to create a comprehensive project representing your Hispanic Country ~ be through and complete with lots of details
